We take your privacy
seriously, and protect it in the following ways:
- We won't
sell or trade your name and e-mail address.
- We won't
let our advertisers send you e-mail without your permission.
- We don't
use cookies, and won't leave any information on your computer.
- We'll make
every effort to protect your data, but it will only be secure
if you keep your password confidential.
- When we
ask you for personal information, only the data we need to
provide you with our services will be mandatory.
- You don't
have to answer our marketing questions if you don't want to,
and we'll clearly remind you that your answers are optional.
- You may
change or delete your personal and marketing profiles at any
time.
- You may
end your membership and and delete any groups you have created
whenever you wish.
- We'll only
share aggregate marketing information with advertisers, and
will never give them your individual profile.
- We'll notify
you immediately if we change our policy.
Your Name And
E-mail Address
We're not in the
business of collecting and selling e-mail addresses, and will never
give your name or e-mail address to anyone else.
You'll only receive
e-mail from our advertisers if you want it. We ask new members
if they'd like to receive e-mail from our sponsors, and the default
choice is 'No.' You may change this preference at any time.
Your Password
When you register
as a member we ask you to select a unique user name and a password.
Together they identify you to our server and allow us to store
and retrieve data for you.
If you share
your user name and password with others, they will also be able
to view, edit, and delete your data. Your information will only
remain private if you keep your password confidential.
Your Personal
Information
We require all
members to give us a user name, password, password hint, and a
valid e-mail address so we can contact you.
The rest of your
personal profile is optional. You don't have to tell us anything
else about yourself, and can change or delete your information
at any time.
If you want to
permanently remove yourself from our service, you can end your
membership and delete all the groups and data that you've created.
If you delete a group, we'll first notify the group members and
there will be a waiting period before it is actually removed from
our site.
How Is Your
Profile Used?
Your personal
and marketing profiles help us understand our users, and aren't
shared with your groups or with advertisers. You control what
other members know about you by creating info-cards and sharing
them with specific groups.
We use the information
in your personal profile to select advertisements for you to view.
Advertisers want to show their ads to people who might buy their
products. If you tell us more about yourself, you're more likely
to receive ads that interest you.
If you choose
to receive e-mail ads, the marketing profile may also be used
to which ads will be sent to you.
Although we use
your profile to decide which ads to show you, we don't share your
personal information with our advertisers. We'll share aggregate
demographic data with them, but we'll never give them information
about particular members. For example, while we might tell them
that 55% of our members are under 35 years old, we would never
tell them that Jane Smith is 27 years old and lives in Chicago,
IL.
Changes To
Our Policy
We'll expand
our services as time goes by, and some new features may require
changes to our privacy policy. We'll notify you immediately when
changes occur, and we'll amend this page to reflect the
current policy.
