What are the
System requirements for PowerGroups?
PowerGroups can be used by any computer with an Internet connection
that can run Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or greater, Netscape
Navigator 4.0 or greater, Netscape Communicator 4.0 or greater
and AOL 4.0 or greater. JavaScript must be turned on (usually,
JavaScript is turned on as the default state). Also, a color monitor
that can display 800 x 600 pixels or greater, displays the pages
best. PowerGroups works with WebTV, but page displays are not
optimized for it.
What do I get with my free PowerGroups account?
You get your Personal Space, including your Personal Home page
and all the features available from the Personal Toolbar
Tabs, and PowerViews to manage your list views in your Personal
Space. You also get the ability to create and join Groups, your
Group(s) Home page(s), and all the features available from the
Group Toolbar Tabs.
If you are the creator of the Group(s) you get full Administration
features, including the ability to set and edit Group and Member
privileges, and Document Management
features to help you control the files shared with your Group,
should you opt to use this feature. Your information is always
accessible from any computer connected to the Internet.
I aleady have a desktop Personal Information Manager (PIM).
Why would I need PowerGroups?
With PowerGroups, you can share the same types of information
you store in your PIM. Your schedules, names, postal and EMail
addresses and phone numbers can now be shared among co-workes,
family, and friends. You can also view the information
your co-workers, family and friends share with the Groups to which
you belong.
If you schedule a meeting and invite people, they are notified
via EMail with all the details, and prompted to respond, even
if they are not members of PowerGroups. If they are members, the
Meeting invitation appears on their Personal Home page. PowerGroups
also helps you keep track of who accepts, declines or hasn't responded.
Since all the information stored in PowerGroups is 'live,' you
can access this information when you need it; no more waiting
for faxes, deliveries, or playing telephone tag. The benefits
from using PowerGroups are limited only by your imagination.
How free is "free?"
PowerGroups is free to all its users. It is supported by our partners.
What's the difference between Personal Space and Group Space?
Files you create within your Personal Space can be shared with
all your Groups. Files created within your Group Space can only
be shared by that Group.
How much
storage space do I get?
Files
created using the Toolbar Tabs require no additional storage requirements.
This means you can create as many Meetings, Contacts, Links, Text
Documents, EMail messages, Discussion Topics and Reminders as
you need. For graphics and other documents (like .jpg, .gif, or
.doc files) you use in Picture Documents or Message enclosures,
we give you 20MB of storage space on our servers free of charge.
If you need more storage, you can purchase an additional 25 MB
of storage for $25 per year.
Is the information I create and share using PowerGroups secure?
Yes.
All user logins are protected, and secured via username and password
requirements. Groups created using PowerGroups are not accessible
to the general public at this time. Only those invited to join
may become part of a Group and share that Group's information.
Will PowerGroups sell my data or my personal information?
No. From the beginning, BizDat has been uncompromising over the
issues of privacy, selling usernames,
EMail addresses, phone numbers, or other personal user information.
BizDat will never sell or otherwise compromise your personal information.
Likewise, any data you create and store using PowerGroups belongs
only to you and to your Groups.
